As we all know, the lettering on our bulletin boards and throughout our classrooms can have a huge impact on the way our students interact with the materials around them. Clear and concise lettering and headings are essential to the function of our classrooms and contribute to positive interactions with the content. They help our little learners engage with educational material independently, while also feeling supported and involved in their learning.
One of the most popular classroom themes is a bee-themed classroom. In fact, this was the theme I used during my first few years of teaching, and it’s one I’ve returned to many times since.

Why Are Bee-Themed Classrooms So Popular?
A bee-themed classroom isn’t just visually appealing - it helps create a positive, purposeful learning environment where students feel like they’re part of something special. The bee theme promotes important classroom values like teamwork, collaboration and responsibility, making it perfect for early years and primary settings.
With consistent bee-themed décor, your displays, signage, and routines work together to reinforce a strong sense of community - your students become the busy bees of their learning hive! The cheerful yellow and black colour palette adds warmth and energy to your space, while also keeping your displays engaging, on-theme, and well organised. Whether you’re setting up for back-to-school or giving your classroom a mid-year refresh, a bee-themed design helps your space feel cohesive, welcoming, and full of buzz all year round.
What You’ll Learn in This Blog Post
In this post, I’ll show you three of the BEST bee-themed bulletin board lettering headings you can use in your classroom - completely free with your Canva for Education account.
And to give you a head start, I’ve also created some matching bee-themed bulletin board bunting and classroom borders to give your space the boost it deserves—all with my ready-made teacher templates.
Now, Let’s Check Out Those SUPER CUTE Bee-Themed Lettering Headings!
The three bee-themed bulletin board lettering headings I’m about to share are designed to be not only super cute, but also practical - helping you keep your classroom well organised. I’ll include the Canva set code under each one so you can easily access them using your Canva for Education account.
All of these lettering sets are free to download and customise through Canva for Education.
Not sure how to use Canva set codes? Now worries! Here is a quick description for you:
Open up a new Canva page - for us teachers this is usually A4 sized as we will want to print our lettering on this sized paper.
On the left hand side click 'Elements'.
Insert the Canva set code into the elements search bar at the top - it should look something like this set:nAF99W0UJK8
Press enter for the set of Canva elements to be displayed

This set of lettering is one of my favourites because not only does it come with letters but it also comes with numbers and also some language symbols like exclamation marks and question marks. Personally I love the little touch of pink on the wings and the antennas but if you would like to change these colours then you are able to do this as well in Canva which is absolutely amazing. The code for this is set:nAF99W0UJK8 so be sure to type this into your Canva elements search bar to view the full collection.

I mean, come on aren't these just the cutest bee themed letters you have ever seen! And it is truly hard to believe that these are free for teachers to download and use in Canva for their classrooms! So, how do we find access to these? Well, the code to find this set is - set:nAE7bpjQjsc . When we look at these, we automatically feel welcomed and happy and cheerful and I think that's why they are such a good addition to our bee themed Classroom. this includes all numbers and letters for this theme but unfortunately at the moment there are no punctuation symbols but this can be easily adapted by getting creative with using fonts and matching the colours and styles to make it blend in.

Honestly, how adorable are these? They’re just so sweet for the kids to have in their classrooms - not only are they easy for students to read and relate to, but they also add that extra touch of cuteness and warmth to your learning space. They’re perfect for bulletin boards and give you the flexibility to design and create whatever heading you need, all within your Canva for Education account.
Just like the other elements I’ve shared with you today, these come with both letters and numbers. What makes them unique is that you can choose which elements you’d like to use. Some have little googly eyes, while others don’t - for example, you might have the letter B with googly eyes and another version without. So, you can decide whether you want them all to match or mix them up. There are two different sets to choose from, making them super versatile for your classroom and perfect for creating fun and engaging bulletin board headings.
How to find these cuties!
Unfortunately, this last one is a little trickier, as it doesn't actually have a Canva code. So, to help you find it, I’ve put together a set of easy-to-follow instructions using the Elements search bar within Canva.
First, head up to the Canva Elements search bar - just like you’ve done before. Once there, type in the words "honey bee alphabet letter M". This search will bring up a range of elements that match that term.
Next, find the element you're looking for within the set and hover over it until you see three dots appear in the top right corner of the element. Once the three dots appear, click on them. A menu will pop up next to the element. In that menu, click the button that says “See more like this.” This tells Canva to generate a range of similar elements that match the one you clicked.
Sometimes, not every part of the set will show up immediately, so you might need to repeat this process a few times for all the letters to appear. For example, if you're trying to find every letter from A to Z, you may need to keep clicking “See more like this” until the full set appears in Canva.
Alternatively…
You can also search for this set by looking up the actual creator and illustrator who designed these elements. In this case, the illustrator is @chonnieartwork - you can even follow her on Canva if you love her work (I do - she’s incredible!).
To do this, type @chonnieartwork into the Elements search bar. Once you’ve done that, press enter. This will bring up all the elements this particular creator has designed for Canva.
From there, use the search bar that appears underneath the creator’s name and type in "bee letters". Press enter, and all of the bee-themed alphabet illustrations created by @chonnieartwork will be displayed below.
How to print your lettering
Printing these lettering sets are so simple to do in Canva! All you have to do is:
Find the element you want using the codes and instructions I have given you.
Insert the image onto the page and make it the size you like.
Download the page as a PDF
Print, cut out and display
